Back to Manufacturing Project Outcomes
Camden County College received a $2,500,000 Round Two grant award to build capacity and training displaced workers for careers in the manufacturing and utilities sectors. The ultimate aim of these efforts was to prepare students for the labor market so that they would be able to obtain employment and earn family-sustaining wages after program completion as well as to help employers meet their hiring needs. CCC sought to collaborate with employers in the manufacturing and utilities industries in order to develop programs to train students for precision machining and gas pipeline installation and maintenance occupations.
“Camden County Community College has been a big help finding potential candidates for employment from their program. It gives the employee the basic tools and knowledge to succeed in this difficult trade.” – John Schallenhammer, President Cherry Hill Precision
“The courses offered by CCC enabled us to select potential staff members whom now have some experience displaying their skills which include CNC milling and CNC lathe turning. We gained 5 new team members in the positions of CNC machine operators. The courses offered by CCC are vital to the sustainability of manufacturing in New Jersey.” – Daniel Farber, President Bright Lights USA
