Retraining the Gulf Coast Workforce through IT Pathways Consortium (GCIT)

The Gulf Coast IT Consortium (GCIT) included a total of nine community and technical colleges in Louisiana (LA) and Mississippi (MS) that joined together to address the demand of local and regional employers for information technology (IT) workers. The consortium identified three sectors in which to focus: Cyber Security, Health Informatics, and Industrial IT. Helping expand sector partnerships, an Employer Engagement tool was created to allow employers to select their level of engagement to participate and support the IT programs.
